Yarina Eco Lodge – Explore the Wild Heart of the Amazon
Welcome to Yarina Eco Lodge, a hidden gem along Ecuador’s Napo River, where the raw beauty of Yasuni converges with authentic culture, unforgettable wildlife encounters, and sustainable travel.
Nestled in a private ecological reserve just one hour by canoe from El Coca, Yarina is more than a lodge—it’s your gateway to the vibrant life of the Amazon Rainforest.
Yarina Eco Lodge blends rustic design with Amazonian charm. Each of the 22 cabins features private bathrooms, hot water, mosquito nets, and balconies with hammocks overlooking lush vegetation. Electricity is available in the evenings, and rubber boots are provided for jungle exploration.
In our cozy communal areas, you’ll find a dining room serving delicious Amazonian meals, social lounges, hammocks, and purified water, tea, and coffee available all day.
Day 1 – Welcome to the Amazon
Arrival in Coca at 11:30 am, followed by a one-hour canoe ride to the lodge. After lunch, walk the Socali Trail—an introduction to diverse jungle ecosystems. After dinner, join an optional night walk to hear the forest’s nocturnal symphony and spot amphibians and insects.
Day 2 – Cultural Connections & Wildlife Encounters
Visit the Josefina Villamar School, then meet a local Kichwa family to learn about daily life in the forest. Enjoy a traditional lunch of “maito de pescado.” Cruise to the Guamayacu River in the afternoon to spot birds and wildlife. Cap the evening with a peaceful paddle along the Manduro River.
Day 3 – Sunrise and Farewell
Optional early birdwatching. After breakfast, return by canoe to Coca.
Day 1 & 2 – Same itinerary as Sounds of Nature
Day 3 – Amazon Tools & Predators
Morning hike through the Capibara Trail, rich in unique palms. In the afternoon, learn to use the traditional blowgun before trying your luck at piranha fishing. After dinner, paddle around Sapo Cocha Lagoon in search of caimans.
Day 4 – Departure
Optional birdwatching. Breakfast and return journey to Coca.

Day 3 – Swamps, Spears & Predators
Explore the Capibara Trail’s swampy ecosystem. After lunch, go piranha fishing and practice blowgun hunting. At night, paddle on Sapo Cocha Lagoon observing caimans in their natural habitat.
Day 4 – Monkeys & Giants
Hike a trail ideal for spotting monkeys and explore local flora. In the afternoon, visit the giant Ceibo tree and learn about Amazonian medicinal plants. Night paddle along the Manduro River.
Day 5 – Farewell
Optional early birdwatching. Breakfast and canoe ride back to Coca by 9:00 am.
