    CUABENO RESERVE 

    (ITINERARY 3D/2N) 

    DAY 1. QUITO – CUYABENO: To reach our meeting point you have to travel the night before to “El Puente Cuyabeno”, which is the  entrance of the Cuyabeno reserve. If you go from Quito on a bus it’s about 9 hours away. 

    The adventure begins at 11:00 AM at the entrance to the Cuyabeno reserve, with a canoe trip down the river to our lodge  (3 hours exploring the river looking for monkeys, birds, etc.). Lunch and time for relax. In the afternoon you will explore the river and lagoons looking for more wild life, swim and enjoy the sunset. At night you will do a canoe expedition in  search of caimans. Dinner. For all our guests interested in knowing more about the amazon rainforest, every evening the  naturalist guide will give different lectures like the “Culture and communities, flora, fauna and conservation”. 

    DAY 2. HIKING DAY: In the morning after breakfast you will take a hike of about 4 hours in the primary forest  accompanied by the naturalist guide who will explain about medicinal plants, insects, birds, etc. Lunch at the camp and  time for relax. After 2 hours of rest you will prepare and tast coffee and chocolate in a traditional way. Before dark you will  explore the streams in a traditional rowing canoe to enjoy the uniqueness of nature. You will enjoy the sunset in the river  and if conditions permit, you may be able to see pink dolphins. Return to lodge gets ready for the night walk. Dinner. This  night you will have the opportunity to know and taste the different traditional drinks of the Amazon. 

    DAY 3. CUYABENO – QUITO: Early in the morning you will explore the river in search of birds and to enjoy the sunrise. After this activity you will return to the camp, have breakfast and have time to organize your luggage. Then you will take the  canoe back exploring the Cuyabeno river for 2 hours in search of more fauna until the entrance of the reserve (11am), where you  can take your transport back home. End of the tour. 

    Lodge services: In your free time at the lodge – mornings, nights or between activities you can enjoy  the reading area, hammocks area by the river, our yoga place, our Amazonian spa or massages (40  min/$20). “Check availability before the visit”

      For your consideration: -Please be aware that there is usually a maximum of 12 people in a group on an Amazon tour. -Please be aware if you have asked for a specific guide and we have confirmed you will be with that guide and he has already started the day before we cannot guarantee that you will be with this guide on the first day it is likely another guide will take you in on the first day and you may be joining a group that arrived before you did -Please remember that the lodges in Cuyabeno are by no means First class lodges. The rooms in Cuyabeno have thin walls so you may be able to hear the people in the next cabin. And there is electricity only a few hours a day. -The tour starts at the Cuyabeno Bridge at 11 am and ends the tour at the Cuyabeno Bridge at 11 am. -The passenger’s obligation is to be at 11 am on the first day of the tour, the lodge is not responsible and will not give refunds if the passenger does not arrive for the tour or if he is late due to any problem on the Quito – Cuyabeno – Quito trip , either due to problems on the road, flight cancellations, demonstrations or any related problem. -The lodge will not give any refund if the passenger decides to end the tour earlier than the schedule describes for any reason. -The lodge will not give refunds if the passenger decides  to don’t do some activity or if he wants to change the activities of the itinerary. -We cannot be held responsible for anything that is left in the cabins however we will always try our best to help you recover them if possible. But the shipping to Quito may take a few days and may incur shipping costs. -Please remember you are going to the Amazon so there will be insects, bugs and creepy crawlies and although you are provided with mosquito netting as the cabins are of an open style this does not guarantee there will be no bugs in your room.  Itineraries are subject to changes for example due to climatic conditions or the availability of people like the Shaman which is not a guaranteed visit.  -Please be aware you will not have internet or phone signal for the duration of your stay at the Tucan lodge so please inform family and friends that you will not be in contact with them until you finish the tour. -If you have any Questions, Requests or Queries please ask and we will always do our best to help
